Everyone gets a chance?

Starting to really question that motto of mine ... just today, I got asked out by a guy who reminded me of my ex very much (not a good sign to begin with) and with accordance to my motto, I said yes ... well, it wasn't just as straightforward as that, but still ... picture if you will:

its just after my choir practice and I'm on my way home ... I get on the bus, walk all the way to the back and sit on the very last chair on the bus, just behind some guy ... right away, that guy starts turning around and looking at me, till in the end, he turns all the way around and asks me if I know what the time is ... after I tell him what the time is, he starts to make conversation ... stuff like what do u do, where do u live and so on and so on ... since I already had to take out my earphones to tell him the time, I simply reply his questions ... and then, just as casually as everything up to that, he asks me if I have time to go for a drink ... I say no because it's already late (thank God I'm not that crazy ... yet) ... he then asks for my phone number, so we could find a time more convenient for the both of us ... and this is what it all comes down to ... to give or not to give, that is now the question ...
so ... in the spirit of my motto, I, of course, give him my number ... I then proceed to try and take a compliment or two graciously, we say bye and I get off the bus ...
(the abbreviated version)

of course, being a woman, I have to go through every detail in my mind and analyse it all ... I'm not gonna do that here, cause let's face it, that would be an unending post :) so just a few of the major thoughts ...

he spoke with an accent, so I'm guessing he's from "south of the border" (though not according to his name, which sounds Italian) - just like my ex ...
he has the courage to ask out girls (he likes?) without making a big deal out of it - a very good trait, missing in almost all Slovene guys (at least according to my experience) ...
he's quite the opposite of guys I'm usually attracted to (to be a complete opposite, he'd have to be blond ;)) - not a good thing ...
not to mention the fact that I felt like he had some hidden agenda - though, granted, that could only be a product of my own imagination and insecurities :D

still way more to go on with, but don't wanna go into details, plus, don't wanna unveil his identity completely (like with his name and looks and so on) ... actually just got a call from him few minutes ago to confirm that it is my number ... well, we'll see about all this ... but like I said, I have my doubts ... and the few of you that already know the story about my ex "south of the border" boyfriend probably understand why any resemblances with J* are not really desirable traits ... and for the ones that don't know the story, just trust me on this one ... besides ... the fact that I hadn't written this guy off just cause of my past should tell you something ... I really don't wanna judge people according to first impressions ... or past experiences ...
but I am fed up with people thinking that I'm easy or that I'm not that smart ... I would have to be pretty smitten to just sit back and let things evolve even when I know it makes no sense ... though, on the other hand, getting asked out simply cause of a first impression is always good for the ego ;)

anyway .... in the end, we'll see if it turns out to be "everyone gets a chance" or "teja doesn't know how to learn from her own mistakes" :)

p.s. with a track record like this, I might just prove my friends right in the end and never have a Slovene boyfriend again (applies only to the recent years)

Translating = a piece of cake?

Got this email awhile back, but only read it today ... Almost laughed my head off, especially over the last one ... that one kills :D

Sometimes speakers of other languages do their best to try and help English speakers by making signs in English. The results are sometimes surprising, to say the least!

The lift is being fixed for the next day. During that time we regret that you will be unbearable
2. In a Paris hotel elevator:
Please leave your values at the front desk
3. In a hotel in Athens:

Naturally 7

a post about one of my favourite groups of all times, only this time I won't be the one writing it ... here's a message from Naturally 7 themselves and their latest clip ...

"Wall of Sound...the art of vocal play!
Let´s do something together and spread Vocal Play around the World!!!

Hello everybody, I hope you are all doing well. This is a special note to tell you about our new video on youtube. As you know, we have been calling our style of A cappella "Vocal Play" for quite some time now.
We decided to show everybody in the world exactly what it is and how we do it with a fun video. We had a lot of fun making it and we hope you all like it. It has always been hard for people to explain to their friends what Naturally 7 does. But now we hope that it will be easier with this
video. We shot the video in Atlanta just a few weeks ago and we are REALLY EXCITED about it.

Now here's the deal. If you like it as much as we do....then pass it on to your friends that love music too. Most of you that are getting this message have supported us for a long time and we really appreciate it.
Let's do something together...this week, this month, next
month.............let's show as many people as we can this video and spread "Vocal Play" around the WORLD!!!

Go to the Video section and check the Video "Wall of Sound"

Thankyou in advance, I love you guys!

God bless......Roger\N'glish"

oh yeah, btw, it'a all a cappella :) just in case u were wondering ...

music ...

isn't it funny how sometimes some people can make u give a certain kind of music another chance? make u start thinking that it can't be that bad if they like it as much ... and all of a sudden u're listening to songs that you used to ignore thinking it wasn't your kind of music ... here's one of the songs that I became aware of due to such a person ... and I love it!

(though with my knowledge of the language, I might need a translation to make sure I got it right lol)

Proud

haven't said it in awhile, but I'm really very proud of my roommates ... not only are they really cool and awesome people, they are also incredible artists ... just recently they performed with Oliver Dragojević in Križanke and at New Swing Quartet's last concert, not to mention they keep appearing on tv and radio, even overseas ... it's really hard to keep track of everything they do ... so just click on their homepage and (h)ear away :D

since I've already written about them before I won't write much about their group ... for more information read my previous post ...

this is one of my favourite songs ... heard it sung a million different ways with a million different people, even sang one of the parts at one time, but they really managed to take it to the next level this time ... well, this footage doesn't do it justice, you'd have to hear it live to really appreciate it ... though, as u can notice, they're not really morning people (the show took place at around 8 am) ;)

Go Xplozion! :D
