Happy Birthday to me! :)
It's kinda weird, not being home for my birthday and celebrating it with my family and friends, but I just had to "come to terms with the situation and make the best of it" :) all in all, it was really a cool day ... nothing special, didn't really want to make a big fuss out of it, but I couldn't help but to fuss a little :)
when I woke up (slept really late), I decided to make me some pancakes for breakfast, to give myself a little treat first thing that day, but when I got into the kitchen, I couldn't believe my eyes!
this was waiting for me on the kitchen table!
I must say, I can't believe my luck with my roommates ... this was actually maria's doing, she had set her alarm to remind her of my birthday like a week after we met :)
so feeling all kinds of special, I decided to go into town for a little walk, window shopping and just general mooching about ... but oh well, another surprise wasn't far at all ...
this was stuck to the main door and I saw it as I was about to leave the apartment ... funny thing is, I had passed it before, on my way to the bathroom, but I guess I was still too sleepy or almost sleepwalking or something, cause I didn't see it at all .... and yeah, I did smile :D
and she doesn't even know about my smileys obsession yet!
I had a blast in der Stadtmitte von Würzburg. It really is a really cute smallish town (at least the centre of it), with a gazillion churches and other grand buildings and it seems like everytime I go into town I find something new to admire ... it's just full of opportunities ... I simply love going for a walk in the city ... even when I'm not on a mission to find some little thing I need for my new room/school/just so/nothing particular :)
anyway, I think I was in the city for ages, cause by the time I got back home it was already getting dark ... but I just had to make another quick little stop at one of my favourite places here in der nähe von meinen studentenheim ... there's this little park-wannabe kind of place with a lot of green, bäume, sculptures, and of course, most importantly, a swing ... and don't ask me how long I was there :)
cause I didn't really feel like going out much (especially cause it was saturday night - prefer my outings on non-typical evenings - and cause we (maria and I) were out the night before), I decided to just stay in (the cold outside helped with that decision too) ... I spent the rest of the day watching tv ... something I haven't done in awhile actually ... was watching some super talent show - germany is looking for the next best "super" talent - and laughed my head off ... it was soooooo hilarious! I mean, some people ... it's almost unbelievable :) and of course I had to spend some time online, talking to my family and friends ... even my bf managed to get online to talk to me ... though he completely forgot it was my birthday, but what can u do ... not like we're married and not like I told him a gazillion times when it is :)
well, I bought a cake thingy at one of the supermarkets earlier and so we had some cake ... around midnight ... always the best possible time for something like that, but somehow it got that late pretty fast ... there was only 4 of us for cake (maria's bf is alergic to cream), so there's still some left if anyone is interested ;) lol
all in all, not a bad day ;) got a lot of text messages, emails and sorts, felt so energized the whole day long that I couldn't fall asleep till around 4 am ... and if half the whishes come true, i'll be the happiest, healthiest and riches (in all possible meanings) girl on the planet! so look out! ;)
next birthday, here I come!
p.s. anyone expecting me to start acting my own age anytime soon will of course be gravily disappointed :)
