Can the 'gift of love' really be a gift or can it turn into a curse?
Can a song really make you 'feel the love' or just make your heartache stronger?
I have to say, sometimes we really manage to make a mess of our lives ... Even when we don't really have much to do with it all ... Missing your hand ... *
Isn't it funny how sometimes completely and utterly crazy things can make your day? Not like I actually believe in any of this, but at least it makes me smile ... a lot ... so here's the latest weird link I got: Which LOTR Character Are You? and I must say, I was quite surprised with the results...
"Aragorn-you are very tough and smart. You are very loyal to your friends, and will always be able to get them out of tough situations. You are a great leader, and an all-around cool person. Way."
Now I'm off to bed with something that actually resembles a grin instead of a frown ...
Just a little something that's been occupying my ears for the past few days... It's been quite awhile since the last time I actually bought an album so this just goes to show that i really like it... Trkaj is a slovene rapper with a genuine soul which transpires into his lyrics, making them speak directly to your soul. If you would like to get a taste of his music, go to his myspace and just click away. One of my favourites is partly in English and was actually a project for Unicef. It's called Some of Them. You can read more about the project from Trkaj's perspective here. Go forth and listen!
Do you ever feel like an iceberg? Like there are all these people around you, people you meet and talk to everyday, that don't have the slightest idea about who you are? About who you really are I mean. Deep down under all those masks you so carefully apply each morning. Do you ever feel like people only notice that small percentage that you show them, and never ever wonder about what lies beneath? What is hidden in those other 8/9ths of the iceberg, the ones that don't really surface?
Let's reverse this train of thought... Do you ever think that maybe, just maybe, there might be more to other people as well? That they're like icebergs as well? You probably never think about it, but that salesperson, who was just so rude to you, maybe she's usually extremelly kind and you just caught her on a bad day? She might have had a very difficult customer, you know, the kind that when you're retelling the story would be depicted as a dragon, or maybe she's having problems at home with a sick husband and a teenage daugther, who's just decided to go wild... Everything is possible. You can even think of the weirdest scenario, and it just might not even be all that weird in this day and age. Well, we all have things going on 'beneath the surface', so how about we start giving each other breaks on account of that? I know I could definately use a break every now and then. Or even more often.
So the next time you feel like you could use a break, why don't you start the trend? Be the first to give someone a break. And you never know, it just might come around. Ever heard of the expression What goes around comes around? So? What do you say? Are you going to be an activist or a passivist? It's that simple.
think its about time I started to promote one of my favourite local groups a bit... well, it wasnt really all that hard for them to get on my list of favourites seeing as though 2 of the members actually live with me and since i've known them for ages (at least it seems so anyway)... and its not really all that hard to get fond of the other 3 members since they're really genuine and have smiles just as big as their hearts :)
anyway, could go on and on about them, but how bout a quick preview... they're called Xplozion and are an acappella group... so far, the only thing they lack is actually their own original songs instead of some renditions and arrangements... but here it goes, just a little tune that's one of my favourites right now...
this was actually their second appearance on this morning tv show and in the second part they're joined by Nuška Drašček cause 3 of them are actually also members of Perpetuum Jazzile, Slovenia's only jazz choir and this was just like a preview of one of their songs... anyhow, they're really awesome and at the same time also really patient with me and i'd like to take this opportunity to thank them for letting me crash their rehearsals and slipping around the backstage with them... told you they are really cool (though its just a matter of time before they get all celebrity-like, trust me ;))
anyway, this is their webpage, though it's in Slovene, just go to the music(glasba) section and click anything in sight to get a better experience of everything they're up to... and just so u can also find some info in english, here's matej's myspace, where you can find a ton of other info, about him, his groups and his projects, and everything else u probably never really wanted to know ;) and yeah, i am a very very proud friend and think myself to be exceptionally lucky to have a friend like that... just so we're clear on that :D
and to rap this up, here's a song that is actually their own... it really turned out pretty great... sth i had on repeat awhile back... really cool...
"prtegnjena", a bit crazy, moody, kind, friendly, positive, smiling, boring/interesting,
everything possible and more, but mostly, it all depends on the weather ;)
wanna know more about me? feel free to ask :)
